Sir Ian McKellen kept a journal during the long filming process for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. And lucky for us, he decided to publish them all in Blog form! From what I’ve read so far they detail his life during his time in New Zealand. There were moments of frustration and being homesick but through it all he stopped to take in the beauty of the country. He also reflects on his storied career; comparing past projects to his current endeavor. This is a true treat from an inspirational man. Below is a link to his blog that he tweeted out.
