A new report from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier delves deep into the “crunch culture” changes at Rockstar games. The company was in hot water over the long hours and extreme pressure put on the development staff that worked on Red Dead Redemption 2. In the report, Rockstar discusses their plans for the next GTA. The game will launch in segments. A smaller base game with followup DLC that would expand the world. This is a modern tactic in gaming and something similar to GTA 5’s online content. With additional content coming after release, the employees can spread their focus and keep to decent work hours. No news yet on whether this addition DLC will come at a cost or be free. Overall, this is a good step for Rockstar Games and soon will be the new norm.
