The Mandalorian casts Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett for season 2. Morrison is an alumnus of the Star Wars family, playing Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Jango Fett is the “father” of Boba and the clone source for every clone trooper; If Boba takes off his mask it should be Morrison’s face we see.
Boba Fett was teased at the end of episode 5 of The Mandalorian. We see just his legs and cape as he approaches a dead bounty. The telltale spurs sound of his boots and beeping from his armor are the biggest clues that Boba was alive and escaped the Sarlacc pit.
Presumably Boba will be hired by Giancarlo Esposito’s character, Moff Gideon, to hunt down Mando and The Child (Baby Yoda). The rivalry could revolve around the Mandalorian identity. Mando was not born a Mandalorian but is fully adopted by their culture while Boba is a clone of a banished Mandalorian.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian is expected this fall on Disney +.
