Just yesterday we released articles about the new series rumors; then this morning CBS confirmed Star Trek: Strange New World. This series will indeed follow Anson Mount’s Captain Pike as he and his crew go on “classic Star Trek” adventures. The series will be written by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. All three writers have storied careers but Kutzman has experience on Star Trek Discovery and the latest Star Trek films. This is part of Kurtzman’s five year deal with CBS to expand the Star Trek universe as a whole. The writers will also serve as producers along side Henry Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. As a Trekkie, this is the best news of the week and can’t wait to discuss it on next week’s podcast.
