The legendary “Snyder cut” of Justice League has created a movement on social media. The fans pleading that a version of Justice League fully envisioned by the original director Zack Snyder would finally be released as it was intended. Well good news for those vocal fans, Snyder Cut is on the way!
During a watch party for Man of Steel with Zack Snyder on the 20th, Snyder revealed the Snyder cut (now called Zack Snyder’s Justice League) will be released on HBO Max in 2021. The release will either be a four-hour film or more likely six 35 minute episodes. They will be filming additional scenes that Snyder wanted into the film for a cost of $20 to $30 million.
Many felt that Justice League was stolen from Zack Snyder after he had to take a hiatus following his daughter’s death and the project was given to Joss Whedon at the DC boss, Geoff Johns’, request. It is said that Whedon then took Snyder’s darker tone and given it a lighter feel. This can be the redemption for Snyder that his fan has been wanting and closure to his trilogy.
“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality” – Zack Snyder
