Boom! Studios revealed today they are working with Keanu Reeves on a new comic series that he will be writing and possibly developing for a series. The 12 issue series called BRZRKR will release this October.
BRZRKR follows a thousands of years old warrior that is part human and part war god. He is constantly balancing his need to kill and his humanity. He will also use memories for wars long past to complete missions in modern-day.
“this character who was born 80,000 years ago, half man, his father’s a war god. It’s a little fantasy in reality. I had this image in my head of a guy fighting through the ages because of his father’s compulsion to violence but with the pathos of a man ‘trapped and trying to figure it out.’” Reeves to USA Today
Keanu Reeves is getting help from writer Matt Kindt, artist Alessandro Vitti, colorist Bill Crabtree, and letterer Clem Robins.
