Gamescom came out swinging on its opening night with announcements and new trailers. Below are the 14 biggest trailers along with my (Frank) opinion.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
We have a release date! Shadowlands is coming October 27th! We also got a new Afterlives cinematic that shows Uther’s new existence in the Bastion faction. The idea of seeing some old favorites might be a recipe for success that people are not talking about much. Legion was the best expansion in a while and when I look back it could be summed up as following Illadin as we take the fight to the Legion. It was a blast! Now, who is bigger than Illidan in the fan’s hearts???….
Fall Guys
My latest addition, Fall Guys, is getting a season 2! They are adding new games and skins. I’m saving up for the knight and wizard skin.
Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War
Our first full trailer for the new COD is here and gives us many returning characters. We also see some heart pounding action as the player tries to keep up with a quickly changing political environment.
Twelve Minutes
One of my most anticipated games, Twelve Minutes, gives you just that to prevent your murder. The new trailer reveals the outstanding cast including James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe.
Star Wars: Squadrons
We have some single player reveals. This game continues to surprise me! These missions remind me of those in the original Star Wars Battlefronts. They are not deep or complicated, but they keep me playing.
Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition
I have not played this before but with GamePass I might as well try. If you want to watch a great streamer play Age of Empire check out our friend WNDSOUL.
Crash Bandicoot 4
We learned about Crash’s Flashback levels that let us play some of the early development levels from the 90’s.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
This extended trailer shows the stunning colors and particle density during Ratchet and Clank gameplay. Rift Apart is a return to the action games I loved as a kid like Spyro, Jack and Daxter, and of course Ratchet and Clank.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond
I’m almost disappointed that this is for Oculus. MoH is an excellent franchise and a return to WW2 is right up my ally. But because this is a VR game, the graphics have been severely hampered. On the other side, we need more titles for VR so this game is needed. Tough to say if I’ll be picking it up.
Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods
The Slayer is back and this time has to fight Ancient Gods. This is Part 1 in new story DLC.
Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead
The new Bridge Constructor takes place in a world overrun by zombies. Build the bridge and save the people!
Star Wars: Journey To Batuu
Love Sims and Star Wars? This is it! I might be coming back to Sims after a long break for this one. Looks like a ton a fun.
Dragon Age
We get a look at the dev team behind the next Dragon Age. They describe some of the character design process and show off the stunning new world.
