It’s being reported by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier that the Activision Blizzard Versailles offices will be closing down soon. The employees tell Schreier they will be receiving additional information next week, but French labor laws make the lay off process a long one with compensation packages and relocation opportunities. The offices peaked with 400 employees but after the notorious 2019 layoffs, they fell to 260. This team was mostly for customer service, marketing, and local support. They once were a Blizzard only unit but moved into the broader Activision Blizzard corporation. We can expect to see more similar shifts if the corporate side continues to absorb the Blizzard creative side.
