Disney revealed on the 12th that they will be restructuring the companies divisions into a single unit that will focus on distribution through Disney+. This was a long-term plan but CEO Bob Chapek told CNBC that COVID accelerated their plans. The theatrical aspect of the company was crippled this year but streaming thrived with over 100,000 subscribers across ESPN, Hulu, and Disney+.

Kareem Daniel is being moved from the head of Consumer Products, Games, and Publishing to the newly created New Media and Entertainment Distribution Group. This new department will be in charge of streaming, all distribution, television, sales, and advertising. Basically everything.
Kareem is an exceptionally talented, innovative and forward-looking leader, with a strong track record for developing and implementing successful global content distribution and commercialization strategies.
