Mads Mikkelsen may be our next Grindelwald! Deadline sources claim Mikkelsen is in talks with director David Yates for the coveted role. They seek to recast Grindelwald quickly to keep Fantastic Beasts 3 on track for its 2022 release.
They are shifting actors after Warner Bros released Johnny Depp. This was a result of the messy legal battle Johnny Depp is facing against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Things escalated when UK’s The SUN claimed Depp was a “Wife Beater.” Depp sued for defamation, but the judge sided with the tabloid paper. Warner Bros. then asked Depp to resign.
