Stallone is joining another Gunn universe! Director James Gunn took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and Sylvester Stallone. In the caption, Gunn confirmed Stallone will be joining the next Suicide Squad.

James Gunn is on the tail end of filming for the next Suicide Squad. Stalone is only the latest in a long line of new cast members including Pete Davidson, John Cena, and Idris Elba. Sly was also in the latest Guardians of the Galaxy as original Guardians member, Starhawk.
The Suicide Squad is a soft reboot for the franchise after the lackluster original film. Filming location shots and featurettes shows an 80s action film vibe. Action star Stallone’s inclusion further cements this new look. Check out the behind-the-scenes featurette from DC Fandome:
