Michael Waldron has been tapped to write a new Star Wars film and Loki season 2. Waldron previously worked on Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness and Loki season 1.
The new Star Wars film is being produced by Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios. As of now, this is a one-shot film. But Feige is well versed in creating expansive cinematic universes. The other Star Wars films being developed are from Wonder Woman’s Patty Jankins and Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi.

The news also confirms Loki is renewed for season 2. Season 1 is expected to release in May 2021 on Disney Plus. It explores a chaotic time jumping Loki from an alternate universe. Micheal Waldron is the head writer for the series and took inspiration from recent Loki comics. Loki has risen in popularity following his MCU appearances, spawning new comics. The series looks very similar to Daniel Kibblesmith’s 2019 run and Christopher Hastings’ four issues “Vote Loki” series from 2016.
Disney’s faith in Waldron is promising for all fans. It hits that Loki season 1 is worth a season 2. And if Kevin Feige has an eye for talent, his trust doesn’t come easy. We could be seeing the start of a future all-star in the geek-media community.
