Jurassic World: Dominion will be the conclusion to the franchise. Director Colin Trevorrow revealed this film would bring all past stories together. Tieing in the original three movies in with the Jurassic World trilogy.
Trevorrow explains the first three films were episodic, with minimal connecting stories. This was typical for films before the ‘trilogy phase’ of the early 2000s. Hollywood is now in a ‘cinematic universe’ phase. Trevorrow says the Jurassic World trilogy was meant to expand the world to the scope of today’s movies.
“It’s very much a serialized story. What was important for me was, when you watch Dominion, you really feel like you are learning how much of a story that first set of movies was and how everything that happened in those movies actually informs what ultimately is able to happen in this.”Colin Trevorrow to Entertainment Weekly
It will be difficult to combine two trilogies filmed in different eras. Star Wars attempted this with lackluster results. How do you think Colin Trevorrow bring a franchise of films to an end? Let us know in the comments below.
