Netflix orders anime series for Tomb Raider and Kong: Skull Island. This will bolster Netflix’s already deep anime library. They announced in 2020 the addition of many new anime properties, including Godzilla.
The Tomb Raider anime will take place after the events of the reboot trilogy from Square Enix. Witcher: Blood Origin writer, Tasha Huyo, will write and produce the new series. The story will stay with the game storyline and not intervene with the Tomb Raider films currently in development.
The Skull Island anime follows a shipwrecked crew that tries to escape the dangerous island. Many creatures and a jungle environment ensure a chaotic adventure. Powerhouse studio is being tapped for this project. They are most well known for Netflix’s Castlevania.
