Autobots, Roll out! Transformer 7 is nearing production, and we now have a title and some details.
The film will be called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Signally the emergence of the Beast Wars version of the Transformers. Beast Wars first appeared in 1996 as a Canadian-developed animated series. It was one of the earliest computer-generated shows that led to a fad of CGI cartoons in the early 2000s. It took place 300 years in the future with Maximals and the Predacons as the warring factions. For many 90s kids, this was Transformers.
We also learned the film takes place in Brooklyn in 1994. That’s after Bumblebee but for the Micheal Bay franchise. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will star Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, and Luna Lauren Velez. Creed 2 director, Steven Caple Jr., is at the helm.
With the soft reboot of Transformers following 2018’s Bumblebee, we will likely see the Transformers head in a different direction. Bringing in Beast Wars will be a clear divide between both the old franchise and the new.
