New Live-Action Penguin Series in the Works

A new Batman series is in development. This one follows Gotham’s crime boss Penguin. The series is headed to HBO Max and is a spinoff of Matt Reeve’s The Batman. Colin Farrell is reportedly returning to the role.

This is similar to the new Peacemaker series announced last month. Peacmaker was announced before the release of James Gunn’s Suicide Squad release. It is a show of confidence it both the director and actor. As we had seen later in that month, Peacemaker was a hit in the film and the series is highly anticipated. A penguin series likely means WB and DC feel like the upcoming movie will be a success.

We will likely learn more about the series at DC’s Fandome on October 16th. We will also get additional information on the other new Batman series, Gotham PD and the animated Batman series. With Titans, Batwoman, and Harley Quinn, DC finds Gotham a breeding ground for new TV.
