Nintendo Direct Reveals Big Additions

Nintendo brought the heat today with a sudden Direct. With only one day’s announcement, Nintendo Direct was likely revealing the (somewhat) leaked N64 games. We got so much more!

N64 on the Switch

This is the long-awaited N64 library coming to Nintendo Switch Online. Our initial games include Star Fox, Super Mario 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and more. We also see a couple of games in the pipeline, like Banjo and Kazooie. This tier will cost a bit more, but we do not have a price yet.

Sega Genesis

A huge surprise to fellow 90s kids…Sega games on a Nintendo. Some classics like Castlevania, Golden Axe, and Sonic are on the way.

New Consoles, New Controller

Both new emulators will have controllers available for $49.99. No release date yet, but possibly late October 2021.

Bayonetta 3

Bayonetta 3 has a release date of 2022. Still waiting but it’s at least set to launch.

Splatoon 3

Splatoon has a new campaign, ‘Return of the Mammalians.’ The new setting looks larger and more diverse but sticks to many of the roots players love.

Kirby and the Forgotten Island

Kirby finally has a new game! Forgotten Island is a 3D platformer that could lead to a new franchise. It’s a staple genre for Mario but a rare release keeps fans wanting more. Kirby can fill the gap and bring something new, changeable abilities. This will be the game that brings in many new Kirby fans. Launches Spring 2022.

Mario’s New Movie

A new Mario movie is the works! Chris Pratt will play Mario and Charlie Day will be his faithful brother, Luigi. The will save Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) from Bowser played by Jack Black. The cast alone is a reason to watch!

There were some other fun smaller announcements like Chocobo GP and Triangle Strategy. Here is the entire Nintendo Direct.
