DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran announced the first film in the new DCU titled Superman: Legacy set to premiere on July 11, 2025. The film will kick off Chapter 1, Gods and Monsters. Gunn is writing the film and may direct, but not yet confirmed. Other films were announced including Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing, The Authority and Batman. Superman: Legacy focuses on balancing Kryptonian heritage with human upbringing and the idea of good versus bad guy. Cavill is out and the studio is looking for younger actors.
