Paramount Network, Paramount Global, and Taylor Sheridan, the co-creator and showrunner of the TV series “Yellowstone,” are planning to end the show but are considering a franchise extension to continue the “Dutton Saga.” Matthew McConaughey is in talks to star in the new show, and it is expected that some of the prominent cast members will also move to the new series. The current show is facing issues with star Kevin Costner over shooting schedules, which has caused morale problems for the other cast members. Paramount Network has declined Costner’s recent proposal for shooting his parts in a week and decided to move on to the new show. McConaughey’s franchise extension is still in negotiations, and it’s unclear whether it will be set in Montana or elsewhere. The new show will air on the linear cable channel Paramount Network and stream exclusively on Paramount+. There are several other shows in the “Yellowstone” universe, including prequels, sequels, and standalone shows.
