FromSoftware Announces Shadow of the Erdtree: A New DLC Expansion for Elden Ring

FromSoftware has finally announced the upcoming DLC expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree. While no release date has been confirmed as of yet, the developer has confirmed that it is currently in development. The news was shared via tweets from the official Elden Ring and FromSoftware Twitter accounts, and it also features new key artwork for the expansion.

This is exciting news for Elden Ring fans who have been waiting for new content since the Colosseum multiplayer update was released. Shadow of the Erdtree will be the first single-player expansion for the game, and it remains to be seen how much content it will include. However, given FromSoftware’s reputation for creating immersive and challenging gameplay experiences, we can expect nothing less than greatness.

Elden Ring has been a resounding success since its release, selling over 20 million copies and receiving numerous game of the year awards, including at DICE, New York Game Awards, and The Game Awards. It was also named IGN’s best game of 2022. The game’s one-year anniversary was just celebrated a few days ago, and the announcement of the DLC has only added to the excitement surrounding the game.

In a recent interview with IGN, Elden Ring creator Miyazaki suggested that the game’s success won’t dictate what content FromSoftware makes next. This is an interesting statement, as it suggests that the studio will continue to create content based on their own vision and creativity, rather than simply chasing success.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Shadow of the Erdtree is not the only project that FromSoftware is working on at the moment. The Japanese studio is also actively developing Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, which is sure to please fans of the Armored Core series.

All in all, it’s an exciting time for FromSoftware fans. With Shadow of the Erdtree and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon both in development, there’s plenty to look forward to in the coming months and years. Until then, we’ll have to wait patiently for more news about these exciting projects.
