Amazon is considering expanding the Creed franchise into a universe-spanning both film and TV, following the success of Creed III, which set a box office record for the tech giant. Michael B. Jordan, star and filmmaker of the franchise, has reportedly been in meetings with Amazon for various Creed-related projects for the past year, with plans for an anime series and companion live-action TV series already in the works. Additionally, there are potential projects centered on Adonis Creed’s daughter and other live-action and animated movies. The expansion of the Creed universe could be a test case for Amazon’s ambitions for MGM, which the company acquired for $8.5 billion in 2021. Talks have also been ongoing about exploring the story of the Rocky franchise, with creator and star Sylvester Stallone expected to be involved.
