Scott Pilgrim Cast Returns for an Anime

Get ready to rock out with Sex Bob-omb once more! Netflix has ordered an anime series that will bring back the cast of the 2010 cult hit film, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The series will be based on the graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O’Malley, and will follow the slacker Scott Pilgrim and his band as they face off against the seven previous loves of Ramona Flowers.

Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will return to voice their respective roles, alongside many of the original cast members including Satya Bhabha, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, Mark Webber, Mae Whitman, and Ellen Wong.

Filmmaker Edgar Wright, who directed the original film, expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “One of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling and working with the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim… I’m more than happy to announce that I have helped coax the entire original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure. You are in for a treat.”

The anime series will be produced by O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski, with O’Malley also serving as showrunner and writer. The animation will be provided by Science SARU, with Abel Gongora directing. Anamanaguchi will provide original songs for the series, and the score will be created by Anamanaguchi and Joseph Trapanese.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World may not have been a commercial success upon its initial release, but it has since gained a passionate following and become a cult classic. Fans of the film and graphic novel series will undoubtedly be thrilled to see the return of their favorite characters in this exciting new anime series.
