Director James Mangold, known for his work on Logan and Indiana Jones 5, has confirmed that he is writing the script for DC’s Swamp Thing. Mangold revealed the news during an interview with Collider, following the announcement of his new Star Wars film. The director stated that he is currently working on both films and it is unclear which project will take priority. Swamp Thing will be part of the DC Universe’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters, which includes five films and five TV shows that will represent the first step in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new vision for DC films. The new films and TV shows will be released after the universe is reset in The Flash, with Superman: Legacy being the first to hit theatres on July 11, 2025. Swamp Thing is one of the five films planned and will be directed by a yet-to-be-announced filmmaker.
