Fans of “The Witcher” series on Netflix will have to wait a bit longer for the third season, but the wait will be divided in two parts. The streaming giant announced on Tuesday that Season 3 will be released in two volumes, with the first five episodes arriving on June 29 and the final three episodes dropping on July 27. The move to split the season comes with the news that this may be Henry Cavill’s last time playing Geralt of Rivia. In a teaser trailer for the upcoming season, Cavill’s Geralt is shown transforming into his Witcher self to face another threat, while Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra also make appearances. Liam Hemsworth has been announced to take over the Geralt role in a recasting for future seasons. The show’s season 3 will see Yennefer taking Ciri to Aretuza to better understand her magical abilities, but instead, they find themselves in the midst of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery.
