Bethesda Softworks and Microsoft’s highly anticipated game, Starfield, has been rated “Mature 17+” by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). The game, which is an action role-playing game, contains content such as violence, blood, suggestive themes, strong language, and the use of drugs. This rating is similar to Bethesda’s previous game, Fallout 76, which also received an “M” rating for similar content.
The Australian Classification Board also gave Starfield a “Restricted” rating, with “interactive drug use” cited as the primary reason for the rating. In addition, the listing stated that the game features “moderate impact” language and themes, “strong impact” violence, and “very mild impact” nudity, with no depiction of sex. The game is recommended for players aged 18 and above, with “interactive drug use” highlighted in the Consumer Advice category.
There are also rumors that a Starfield-themed Xbox controller and headset may be in development. However, there are no plans for a custom-themed Starfield Xbox Series X console. Fans of the game can expect a mature and intense gaming experience when it releases later this year.
