A Blue Beetle movie is in the works at Warner Bros! This film will feature Jaime Reyes, the third person to claim the title. According to TheWrap, DC insiders are excited for the first Latino hero of the DCEU and are bringing in Latino talent for the project.
Jaime Reyes discovered the scarab that became the Blue Beetle battle suit. He then took over the mantle after the death of Ted Kord. With the suit, he has super-human abilities and fights crime. Blue Beetle has a youthful personality and often unsure of his powers. Similar to Spider-Man or Rogue.

Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer has been tapped to write the script. He is best known for the “Scarface” remake and “Miss Bala.” Zev Foreman will be the executive producer. And Angel Manuel Soto set to direct. Soto helmed “La Granja” and 2020’s “Charm City King.” The project is in very early development and won’t release until at least 2023.
