Sylvester Stallone to Star in “Cliffhanger” Sequel Directed by Ric Roman Waugh

Action movie fans rejoice! Sylvester Stallone is set to reprise his role in a sequel to the 1993 hit movie “Cliffhanger.” The upcoming film will be directed by Ric Roman Waugh and will feature a script by Mark Bianculli. While details of the plot have not yet been revealed, Stallone will once again play the character of Ranger Gabriel “Gabe” Walker, who he portrayed in the original film directed by Renny Harlin.

The film is being produced by Neal H. Moritz’s Original Film, as well as Stallone and Braden Aftergood’s Balboa Productions. Other casting decisions have yet to be announced. The first “Cliffhanger” film premiered in Cannes and grossed over $255 million worldwide.

In addition to his involvement in the “Cliffhanger” sequel, Stallone has also recently signed a deal with Amazon Studios to produce and star in the action comedy “Never Too Old to Die,” which revolves around a murder investigation in a retirement home for spies. He also stars in the crime drama series “Tulsa King” and will reprise his role as Ravager Captain Stakar Ogord in the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

Director Ric Roman Waugh is known for his work on a number of action thrillers, including “Angel Has Fallen,” “Shot Caller,” and “Greenland.” The upcoming “Cliffhanger” sequel will be a welcome addition to his already impressive resume.

Fans of the original “Cliffhanger” film and of Stallone’s action movies in general will surely be eagerly anticipating this long-awaited sequel. With its impressive cast and production team, it’s sure to be an action-packed blockbuster that won’t disappoint.
