Gen V Producers Confirm Chance Perdomo’s Character Won’t Be Recast for Season 2

In a heartfelt statement, the producers of the hit superhero series Gen V have confirmed that the late Chance Perdomo’s character, Andre Anderson, will not be recast for the show’s upcoming second season. Perdomo tragically passed away at the age of 27 in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident this past March.

The statement released by the producers expressed their deep respect and admiration for Perdomo, asserting that no one could ever replace him. Instead of recasting the role, the team behind Gen V has decided to take the necessary time and space to reshape the storylines for Season 2, which is set to commence production in May.

“We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance,” the statement reads. “Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May.”

Perdomo’s character, Andre Anderson, a superhero endowed with magnetic manipulation powers, was last seen in custody alongside several other students during the climax of the Season 1 finale.

The producers have made a solemn promise to honor Chance and his legacy throughout the upcoming season, ensuring that his presence continues to resonate within the show’s narrative.

Gen V, a spin-off of the popular series The Boys, unfolds within the confines of a college tailored exclusively for young adult superheroes. Premiering on Prime in September 2023, the show garnered rave reviews, with IGN awarding it a stellar 9 out of 10 rating, describing it as launching “like a juiced-up A-Train.”

As fans eagerly anticipate the return of Gen V for its second season, the decision not to recast Chance Perdomo’s character serves as a poignant reminder of the indelible mark he left on the series and the hearts of viewers worldwide.
