New Photos from ‘House of the Dragon’

New images from HBO’s “House of the Dragon” were released today on Twitter. They show five of the show’s new characters.

First, we see Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen on the beach with Prince Daemon Targaryen. Rhaenyra is the eldest daughter of King Viserys I. She was raised to rule Westeros but when her father had a son from a second marriage, she was pushed aside. Daemon was Rhaenyra’s husband and uncle (Targaryen problems). He was a skilled warrior and wielded the infamous Dark Sister valerian sword.

Next, we have Otto and Alicent Hightower. Otto was the Hand of the King, and his daughter, Alicent, eventually married King Viserys I. Alicent gave birth to the King’s first son, who would become a contender for the throne.

Last is the Sea Snake. Born Corlys Velaryon, he becomes the head of House Velaryon and The Lord of The Tides. When the Targaryen civil war broke out, known as the Dance of Dragons, he came to the aid of his former daughter-in-law, Princess Rhaenyra. She elevates him to Hand of the Queen.

The Game of Thrones spinoff is shaping up to be a drama-filled show, rivaling the original. As more info arises, we will update you here and on our podcast.
