Ubisoft revealed some gameplay and additional details for the upcoming Far Cry 6! Set in a fictional island nation called Yara. The nation is in turmoil as the dictator, played by Giancarlo Esposito, has shut the island off from the outside world. The citizens rise up to overthrow the oppressive regime but face a ruthless military that seeks to crush the rebels.
You will play as Dani Rojas (you choose their gender), who is a young guerilla fighter. Dani seeks to tear down the regime using an array of homemade guns and explosives. The eyecatcher is a CD launcher that plays The Macarena. They are joined by other rebel fighters, similar to past Far Cry games.
Far Cry 6 seems to have mediocre graphics when compared to recently revealed games like Horizon Forbidden West. Ubisoft still has some time to tighten those up. The best parts of Far Cry games are the unique open worlds, amazing villains, and action-movie-like stories. Those all seem to be coming in the next installment.
Far Cry 6 will be on PC, past-gen, and next-gen consoles. Pick yours up on October 7th.
