Another day at E3, another slew of announcements. Day 3 is the most subdue day of the event. Nevertheless, we got new games and gaming hardware that has us filling our shopping carts.
Instead of discussing every single reveal, we are sharing our top 5 announcements of E3 Day 3!
5. Intellivision Amico
Intellivision returns to the console world with a unique couch co-op-driven machine. Amico’s first eye-catcher is the odd controller. They have one big wheel and a screen like the iPhone in your pocket. The wheel has 64 connection points and pressure sensitivity. Also, the screen adds additional input for the player, unlike any other console. Intellivision is blunt about what their console is. The Amico is not meant to go toe to toe with the PS5, but it can be a family-friendly device for everyone.
4. Razer Blade 14
I am a PC player. I like that brightly lit tower, heating up my room and sucking in the dust like a vacuum. Is it perfect, no, but I love it. I never thought I’d consider a laptop alternative⦠until now. The Razer Blade 14 is all power and beauty. This model is the first Blade to use AMD, giving you more punch for less price. It also totes the impressive 3060 GPU in its baseline version. And yes, that can go up to the 3080! All the gaming force is packed in a slim form factor, making transportation easy. Razer just made a PC loyalist add a laptop to his wishlist.
3. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles 1 and 2 are coming to the US! This title is not for everyone, but it has a proud and devoted fan base. Chronicles take players back to victorian England to help Sherlock Holmes, well Herlock Sholmes. Help Herlock investigate the cases then defend them in court. Ace Attorney loyal fans are preordering these games ASAP!
2. Monster Hunter Stories 2
Look, I’m not a Monster Hunter fan. Nothing against the games, just never been interested. After this presentation, I’m on board. The typical Monster Hunter is a fast-paced monster-slaying romp. MH Stories 2 looked like a new anime that I’m hyped to binge. The story turns the relationship between hero and monster on its head. I’m headed to GameStop in the morning to pick the first game up for the 3DS!
1. Blankos
This indie game may be the next industry gaming title. At first glance, it looks like a Fall Guys clone. But Blankos takes character skins to the next level. Instead of loot boxes or typical skin stores, Blankos use NFT tradable art. This means your skin is one of a kind. Here’s an example: A new skin is released, but there are only 1,000 available. You buy one and receive a serial number with it. Your skin is 567 of 1,000 and is fully unique. You can then modify and upgrade the skin. It increases in value and rarity. You can either keep the skin as a trophy or sell it for a profit. This unites gamers and collectors. The character even looks like Funko Pops. If this new business model works, it may be ripple through the entire industry. A Fortnite, Overwatch, or League of Legends skins could also be tied to an NFT. The value of the skin for both parties goes through the roof. Blankos might have just introduced us to the future of gaming.
Honorable Mention
