HBO has renewed “The Last of Us” for a second season after only two episodes have aired, with the third set to run this Sunday on HBO and HBO Max. The series has been well received by both critics and audiences, with a 97% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and episode two reaching 5.7 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max in the U.S. this past Sunday. The showrunner Craig Mazin and executive producer Neil Druckmann co-created the series version of “The Last of Us” and served as executive producers. The series is a co-production between HBO and Sony Pictures Television.
