The 90’s classic children’s books Animorphs by K.A. Applegate is coming to the big screen. Scholastic is teaming up with producer Erik Feig for the project. Feig has worked on horror and teen films; Animorphs has shades of both.
Animorphs follows five teens with animal shapeshifting powers that fight a secret alien invasion. The 54 books were printed from 1996 to 2001 with 35 million copies sold. They spawned two seasons of a live-action series.
Along with the new movie, we are getting a new comic series under Scholastic Graphix publisher. The first graphic novel set to release on October 6, 2020.
